What drew you to Communication Studies?
The wide variety of offerings within the communication field.
Describe your internship and your role.
My internship involved: looking and analyzing survey responses, creating a scorecard to send to members and executives from that data. I also worked on Dashboard analyzing the 1-800-ShopRite data intake and organized the Consumer Affairs drive. I helped create ShopRite Partners In Caring materials and organized and distributed materials for ShopRite Partners In Caring Cheerios Contest materials. A big part of my internship was working on a team presentation called the Big Idea project to present to executive staff and members. I also participated in LinkedIn workshops and Elevator Pitch Workshop.
What is your best memory from your internship?
Presenting in front of the members and executive staff for my Big Idea presentation
What is one skill you improved upon while at your internship?
My professional communication skills and time management.
How did Communication Studies help prepare you for your internship?
It help me with time management and real world application skills.
Do you have any advice for students looking to apply for internships?
Don’t rule out a company because it doesn’t seem like an area of interest for you.
