Broadcast and Multimedia Journalism Minor

The interdisciplinary minor in broadcast and multimedia journalism requires five units. In accordance with existing College policy, at least half of the courses required for the minor must be completed at TCNJ or through a prior approved course exchange program. In addition, at least two courses must be 300-level or above.

Requirements

Broadcast journalism (1 course unit)

Digital filmmaking  (1 course unit)

  • COM 212: Introduction to Digital Filmmaking

Photo/video-related choices (1 course unit)

Choose one of the following courses:

  • COM 270: Writing and Announcing for Broadcasting
  • IMM 342: Interactive Storytelling
  • AAV 130: Photo 1
  • AAV 231: Photo 2: Documentary Photo
  • AAV 241: Video I
  • AAV 331: Photo 3: Image and Narrative
  • Topics course by advisement

Audio-related choices (1 course unit)

Choose one of the following courses:

  • COM 269: Production for Public Radio
  • COM 369: Advanced Radio and Audio Production
  • JPW 370: Topics in Journalism: Podcasting
  • IMM 251/MUS 337: Audio Recording and Production (cross-listed)
  • Topics course by advisement

Media-related choices (1 course unit)

One of the following:
