Considering a Major in Journalism?

Our students consistently apply classroom learning to practical experience, reporting and producing content for The Signal, LTV, WTSR, HerCampus, or local community news outlets.  They build portfolios that might include multimedia features, podcasts, data-driven investigations, social media campaigns, or collaborations with disciplinary experts and community partners on projects related to civic engagement, health and environmental issues, and other urgent needs.

Students leverage these experiences into impressive internships and careers at organizations like NBC, CBS, Instagram, Delish, Barrons, Dow Jones, Bloomberg, the Philadelphia Phillies, and the New York Times Wirecutter. The list of graduate schools accepting our student scholars for advanced study includes the University of Texas, Drexel,  Syracuse University, Rutgers, William and Mary, Villanova, and the University of Pennsylvania.

Our alumni include a Pulitzer Prize winner, a founder of a globally recognized nonprofit supporting girls’ education, an Emmy winner, and many more accomplished and respected leaders in fields ranging from entertainment to technology to peacemaking, education, and mental health. Graduates are strong candidates for positions in journalism,  public relations, book publishing, digital product management, corporate communication, health journalism, social media, audience engagement, media production and editing, marketing and sports marketing, and public policy.
