Welcome new COM faculty member, Dr. Kelli Jean Smith

Kelli earned her PhD in Communication from Michigan State University. Her area of expertise is interpersonal communication, and she has published several journal articles and book chapters and has co authored a book. Her area of expertise is interpersonal communication. She has co-authored a book, Applied Communication and Practice (Cognella Press, 2017) and published book chapters and peer-reviewed articles in Communication Teacher and Communication Monographs, among others.

She teaches courses in communication theory, organizations and leadership, introductory public relations, and small group communication. She is originally from Hawaii and enjoys reading and spending time with her husband and four parrots.

This semester Dr. Smith is teaching COM 103, Introduction to Communication Theory, COM 261 Introduction to Public Relations, and COM 441 Organizations and Leadership.
