Dr. Smith – New Publication to Celebrate
Kelli Smith, visiting assistant professor of Communication Studies, has co-authored a chapter published in the book “Feminist Mentoring in Academia”. The chapter, entitled “Feminist Mentoring across Three Generations,” explores feminist co-mentoring, an approach that integrates emotional mentoring into the traditional mentoring model. The authors represent three academic generations of faculty in a Communication Department and share their experiences with co-mentoring. The chapter then moves from individual reflection to best practices for co-mentoring such as egalitarian relationships, cooperation, and interconnected spheres of work and home.
