What do you do in your current position?
I’m currently the music editor at Billboard, where I edit and write for the Beat music section of Billboard’s weekly magazine while also writing features for Billboard.com.
What is your favorite part about your job?
I love writing and reading about music, so to be able to work with other writers on stories about artists, the industry and the most exciting new developments in music is the highlight of the daily grind.
What made you choose journalism?
I knew I wanted to be a writer, and I loved music, so becoming a music journalist made sense for me. As a whole, however, I’ve found the journalism world to be riveting and personally enriching; I’ve been able to help tell fascinating stories and break essential news.
Tell us about the importance of getting involved in student media at TCNJ.
I would not be where I am today without the guidance of the journalism department and the high standards of student media at TCNJ. Whether it be through the world-class Signal team or the fantastic WTSR organization, TCNJ helped prepare me for the polish and demanding schedule of the media world.
