Are you passionate about storytelling, media, strategic communication, or content creation? The Department of Communication, Journalism, and Film welcomes current TCNJ students who want to transfer to or add a second major in our program. We offer two dynamic majors—Communication Studies and Journalism and Professional Writing—each designed to complement diverse academic backgrounds and career goals.
Why Add CJF to Your Academic Journey?
Our majors work well as:
- A primary major (transferring from your current major)
- A second major (adding to your current major)
Both majors complement many fields:
- Business Students (Marketing, Management, etc.): Enhance your skills with strategic communication, media relations, professional writing, and content strategy
- STEM Students: Learn to translate complex technical information for diverse audiences through science communication and multimedia storytelling
- Kinesiology and Public Health Students: Develop expertise in sports journalism, health communication, and digital content creation
- All Students: Build a versatile toolkit including writing, video production, digital media, and critical thinking that employers value across industries
