The John C. Pollock Health Communication Award is given in honor of Dr. John Pollock, who co-chaired the task force that created the Public Health Department, founded the Health Communication specialization in that department, founded the Health and Wellness specialization in the Dept. of Communication Studies, and was the founding faculty sponsor of the interdisciplinary Public Health Communication Club in 2008.
