Change of Major or Add Second Major

Interested in joining us as a Communication Studies or Journalism and Professional Writing major? We welcome internal transfers and students adding a second major. Follow these three simple steps:

1. Download and fill out the Undergraduate Change of Major/Second Major Form (Note: Only student signature is needed. We all obtain the department signature for you)
2. Request your unofficial transcript from PAWS
3. Submit both documents through our online portal: CJF Form Uploads

Add a Minor

We offer minors in:

COM 391 Independent Study Application

Follow the following steps to apply for COM 391:

1. Download and complete the COM 391 Application Form (Note: Only student and faculty advisor signatures are required. We all obtain remaining signatures for you)
2. Complete the independent study proposal
3. Submit the form to our online portal: CJF Form Uploads

Request Course Overload

• Students who plan to take more than 4.5 units in a semester need to apply for course overload by completing the ArtsComm Overload Request form.

Student Travel Request

Planning to attend a conference or off-campus event as a CJF representative? You’ll need travel authorization before you go.

What to do:

1. Review Student Travel Request Instructions – Start here to understand the process
2. Download and complete the following forms with your supervising faculty member:
   1. Student Travel Reimbursement Check Request – Add your name, PAWS ID, and full contact information. All other areas will be completed by the Department.
   2. Student Travel Funding Request – Add your name, event information, classes you will miss, and planned expenses and obtain faculty advisor signature. All other areas will be completed by the Department.
   3. Travel Attachments A, B, and C – Student/Guardian signature(s) required.
3. Obtain medical insurance card (front & back) and, if driving, car insurance card and drivers license for driver of vehicle.
4. Upload your completed packet via CJF Form Uploads
